Saint Basil of Ostrog church

The Cathedral Church on Petrova Glavica in Nikšić was built in 1900 by Prince Nikola I Petrović and designed by the Russian architect Mihailo Mihailovič Preobraženski. The project of the church was presented in 1892, and already in 1894 the foundation stone was laid. It is a memorial temple dedicated to Montenegrin and Herzegovina heroes who died in the wars between 1875-1880. years. Their names are inscribed on copper plates located on the south and north walls. 3075 names are inscribed on 35 plates.
